Introducing the Travelling Canvas Series: A Collaboration with Indonesian Artist Lampurio

To celebrate 30 years of Ticket to the Moon in 2026, we are proud to launch the first edition of our new Travelling Canvas series — a creative journey where functional everyday products become moving pieces of art.

Our inaugural collaboration features Rio Simatupang, better known as Lampurio — an Indonesian painter and mixed-media artist whose bold, tribal-inspired aesthetic has captured audiences across the archipelago.

Meet Lampurio: Art Born from Nature, Culture, and Movement

Hailing from Palu City in Central Sulawesi, Lampurio grew up surrounded by Indonesia’s immense natural diversity and cultural richness. These influences pulse through his work today: strong lines, tribal forms, and minimalist compositions that carry stories of land, people, and spirit.

He describes his artistic style as “tribal, bold, and minimalist,” mirroring the raw and honest narratives he aims to express.
His themes revolve around nature, animals, tribes, social realities, and culture — topics deeply connected to Indonesia’s identity and to humanity’s relationship with the world.

For Lampurio, art is more than visual expression; it is a message.
He reminds us that nature is a gift, a source of life deserving of care and protection. His work is a call for awareness, respect, and responsibility.

How the Collaboration Began

The relationship between Lampurio and Ticket to the Moon started years ago during his exploration of the Geo Park Poso expedition. Preparing for the journey, he reached out to us for hammocks and tarps to support his outdoor activities.

What began as a practical request soon evolved into a creative friendship.
Over time, Lampurio shared his visual work with us — and the seed for a collaboration was planted.

The First Travelling Canvas

For our 30th Anniversary Lampurio created an exclusive artwork for us. It is vibrant, symbolic and unmistakably his.
We transformed it into a limited-edition print on our ECO BAG Medium, turning a functional, everyday essential into a wearable artwork.

Just like a traveller collecting memories, the bag becomes a canvas in motion — carrying stories across cities, forests, islands, and daily life.

What “Travelling Canvas” Means

When asked what he associates with the idea of a travelling artwork, Lampurio shared a vision of freedom and storytelling:

“I associate it with freedom, exploration, and storytelling.
It feels like the artwork becomes a companion on the journey, collecting memories, environments, and experiences along the way. A travelling canvas carries the spirit of movement and constant change, showing how art can grow, evolve, and connect with different places and people.”

This philosophy perfectly echoes our own values — life lived lightly, connected to nature, and shared with others.
