FAIR TRADE

Made in Utopia:

MEMBER OF THE WORLD FAIR TRADE ORGANISATION

Since day one, we have seen ourselves not only as a manufacturer of feel-good products, but also as an advocate for socially responsible production conditions and fair trade. Together with the Fair Trade movement, we share the vision of greater justice, transparency and responsibility in global trade (World Fair Trade Organization, 2009).

As a recognized partner of World Shops in Austria, South Tyrol and Germany, we meet clear criteria – including fair working conditions, transparent processes and responsible trading practices.

Since 2023, we have been an official member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO).

Honestly, consciously and with full commitment, we are heading towards our utopia – for our employees and our partners.

High Social Standards

For us, fairness starts with our employees – because they are at the heart of our organisation.

Only together with them can we inspire people to dream and create a working environment shaped by participation and collaboration. They are our family – and Bali, where it all began, is our beloved home.

That is why Charly, the founder of Ticket To The Moon, has always seen himself as just one part of something bigger and continues to meet his team on equal terms. In Bali, this also means quite literally sitting down together on the floor to discuss current topics. Including employees in decision-making is therefore not an extra for us, but a natural part of how we work.

Alongside flat hierarchies, it is above all the personal and family-like atmosphere that our team values – whether when discussing new ideas or in everyday work. This includes people like Putu Agus or Made Sandi, who has been working in our production facility in Bali since 2000 and is now our Production Manager.

We want to create the right conditions for a positive working environment – above all through fair pay that is significantly above the regional average, profit sharing, social security coverage, pension benefits and free recreational activities.

Our team outings in particular strengthen the sense of togetherness and are considered something very special. This strong sense of community shapes the spirit of Ticket To The Moon – and it is exactly this spirit that we want to share with our global community.

Our employees are just as important to us as our Indonesian roots. That is why we also want to give something back: our employees participate in the company’s profits. Through our own TTTM Foundation, we were also able to implement several projects in the areas of local tourism, healthcare and education, as well as create jobs.

Fair trade practices

In our work and decision-making, we consistently follow the principles of Sociocracy 3.0 – and we apply the same values when choosing our business partners.

A collaborative, as regional as possible approach and high product quality are essential requirements for us when entering into a partnership. We place particular importance on long-term partnerships built on friendly and trusting relationships.

That is why we not only maintain regular and open communication, but also visit our external partner companies personally on site. Only then can we say with confidence:

We only sell what we live and love ourselves.

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 & No Fluorocarbons

Our parachute nylon is certified according to OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100. When treating the relevant materials, we do not use fluorocarbons (PFAS/PFC).

When it comes to environmental protection, we have followed the principle of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle from the beginning – both in Europe and in Bali. Our products are made to a high standard of quality. In this way, we want to counter the throwaway culture and enable our customers to enjoy our products for a long time.

Alongside our resource-conscious approach to production, we also invest specifically in the reuse and further processing of material offcuts. Suitable fabric offcuts from hammock production are either turned into Moon Bags, Backpacks and other lifestyle products or recycled into new fabrics. Anything that cannot be meaningfully integrated into our own material cycle is returned to the value chain by Balinese recycling pioneer Eco-Bali.

Weltladen Dachverband

Together with Weltladen Dachverband (World Shop Association), these standards are part of a path that brings us step by step closer to our Utopia.
