There can only be one original, the first Parachute Hammock. It was back in 1996, when after years of hammocking, and selling a basic suspended sleeping solution, TTTM Founder Charly came across parachute nylon. Being intrigued by the material’s unique qualities, as low weight, unequalled strength, and amazing compactness, he started his quest to create the ultimate hammock. Could this material enable the breakthrough he had dreamt of?
Traditional hammock cannot be folded and stored easily since they use spreader bars, the TTTM parachute hammock has no spreader bars. A parachute hammock is much lighter than a traditional Mayan one. Though it is more spacious when in use, it is much smaller when stored in its attached pouch. The clever pouch designs will always allow you to fit it into your backpack or hang it from your belt.
The cotton strings of traditional hammocks absorb moisture, making it more susceptible to mold and mildew, yet the synthetic material of parachute hammocks rejects water. Parachute nylon fabric will also see color fade much slower, even in direct sunlight. The TTTM Hammocks’ fabric is easy to clean and will not rot.
Safety and comfort:
The mesh of traditional hammocks is likely to leave impressions on your skin, and fingers and toes can get stuck in the net. The delicate cotton strings can easily snag, so you need to be extra careful when getting in and out. The sturdiness of your TTTM Hammock, meanwhile, has a super smooth surface and a weight tolerance of 200 kg . The TTTM Parachute hammocks are elastic and breathable, so they don’t absorb sweat, cotton hammocks do and thus often produce an odor that could attract rodents and other animals. Some people fear hammocks, because they think they will fall out. Indeed, hammocks that use a spreader bar to open up the ends can flip easily and when a hammock flips the user will fall out. With TTTM parachute nylon hammocks the fabric bunches into a small area at the end. This creates a cocoon like space that will not flip without the help of your friends! Parachute hammocks will last approximately three times longer than traditional ones. The TTTM hammock offers great value, it is the one and only ORIGINAL, its well-known brand name is synonymous with high durability. You can definitely resell it at a good price, but why would you?
Quick drying material:
When traveling as backpacker you’ll appreciate that a wet nylon hammock holds very little water, whereas a wet cotton hammock will mean a substantial weight increase, which will tire you faster.
The TTTM Parachute hammock is easy to clean, by hand or machine, it is designed to withstand the toughest conditions.
Your hammock comes standard with two stainless steel hooks or aluminum carabiners on each end that you can use to hang your hammock from any mounting point; ropes or straps, webbing, anchors. Our pre-knotted nautical hammock ropes remain the easiest and safest way to hang your TTTM hammock, they are also the cheapest solution as a set of 2 lengths of nautical rope, lined and pre-knotted for a hammock setup in just seconds. Our hammocks are manufactured with 100% nylon parachute fabric; this makes them lightweight yet extremely strong. We have successfully passed crash tests exceeding 1200 kg / 2400 lbs, but for safety reasons we recommend a maximum load of 200 kg / 440 lbs for all TTTM Hammocks.
One person for sleeping comfortably, two people will fit in the Single Hammock, but intimately. Up to three persons can sit in the Double Hammock with their feet sticking over the side. A King Size Hammock easily sleeps two adults and a child. We have witnessed how eight people had great fun one afternoon swinging in a TTTM Mammock that was suspended over water…

Defective or damaged products should be returned to us for evaluation and will be repaired or replaced at our discretion. Warranty issues are settled by replacement or exchange, no credits or refunds. We take great pride in developing the original parachute hammock, selecting the best materials, and crafting to the highest safety and quality standards. While hammocking, please show respect for that and remember to remove sharp objects as pocket knives, belts, keys, necklaces and earrings. A word of warning is further in place for animals; they love hammocking too, but their sharp nails can puncture the delicate fabric! UV light will fade the colors of your hammock and at some extreme point damage the fabric, so avoid long exposure to the sun. Especially when you’re not in your TTTM Hammock, consider putting it back in its pouch.
Nylon fabric is extremely resistant but also fragile...Small holes or burns can be repaired with repair patch.
The good news is that we will never let our users down so it is available for shipping from the factory, please contact us for further info.
Certainly, and you don’t have to be a swinger. After a long day of trekking, a flexible branch can even do some of the work for you! The Mayans have done it for generations; a little creativity lets you explore many different positions in, on and from your hammock. One TTTM aficionado calls it “the ultimate love swing”.
TTTM hammocks are extremely breathable, so you will not sweat in your hammock. The porous nylon fabric makes them safe for children too. They will not hold water, so even when left in a downpour there is no threat of rot or mildew.
First of all, check if the suspension system is secured properly. Facing away from the hammock, slightly spread the material by holding both sides and slowly sit down as the hammocks stretches under the weight. Once you are comfortably seated hold the far side for balance and swing your legs inside. Relax and enjoy the Ticket to the Moon experience! When you are told to get out, swing your legs back out, and once you feet are on safe ground, stand up.
Spreader bars make your hammock instable, as it flips over more easily, and they only make a hammock heavier. Our hammocks’ length of over three meters eliminates the need for bars. We do admit that a spreader bar makes an empty hammock look very inviting, but would you really want to carry two bars just for the odd photo opp?
The TTTM stainless hook allows for easy hammock set up with the right balance regardless of the distance between mounting points, especially if you use TTTM Nautical Rope or Tree-Friendly Straps fast suspension system. The hook makes for super easy and safe installation, so you can enjoy your Ticket To The Moon in less than 90 seconds. Hammock set up within a minute!
The optimal distance for hanging your hammock is between 3 and 4.5 meters. If the distance is less than that, you need to increase the height of the hooks to create a curve. If the trees or structures are further apart, you can use TTTM nautical rope to bridge the distance. The safest way of hammocking is no more than 45 cm or 18 inches above the ground, just in case the tree gets hit by lighting or your anchoring wasn’t secure enough.
Our Single, Double and King Size hammocks are all 320 cm long, so they perfectly match most standard 10 feet frames. The shorter Mini Hammock and longer Mammock won't fit though.
Our Mosquito and Bug Net is roomy enough to protect you from insects and pests if you use a Mini, Single, Double or King Size Hammock. However, it is not big enough for the Mammock, giant parachute hammock. The TTTM Hammock Tart is also designed to easily cover most of our hammocks.
We recommend either washing your hammock in a front-loading machine, or hand washing in a (bath-) tub. If you are washing your hammock remember to remove the hooks or carabiners (no need to untie any knots), washing gently at 30 degree Celsius without bleach using a gentle detergent. After thoroughly rinsing with water, hang or lay your hammock flat to dry. Do not dry hammocks in a tumble dryer.
Tie ends together with string just below the end loops. Tie the hammock again at the other end, and once more in the middle. This will prevent tangling. Put the hammock in a pillow case and tie it tightly. Use a mild detergent, no bleach, and wash gently. Dry the hammock immediately after the rinse cycle by hanging it or laying flat to dry.
